Q
Can we have a battery backup system installed for load shedding and then add the solar panels at a later stage?
A
Yes, as long as the inverter that is installed for the battery backup system can connect to the solar panels that will be installed at a later stage.
Q
Can we connect our Geyser and Stove to the solar / battery backup system?
A
Unfortunately not, as the Geyser and Stove have heating elements that would drain your batteries or damage your inverter.
Q
How do you ensure that the Geyser and Stove don’t work off of the solar / battery backup system?
A
We would split the DB into Non-Essentials (Stove, Geyser) and Essentials (Plugs and Lights). The Non-Essential DB would only get power from the gird (Eskom)
Q
A
Can we connect a generator to the solar / battery backup system?
Depending on the inverter that is installed. Majority of the inverters do have a connection for a generator. The generator must be correctly sized and have the same amount of phases as the inverter.
Q
Do we receive an electrical COC as part of the solar / battery backup system installation?
A
Yes, we will issue an electrical COC for the solar / battery backup system installation once the system has been installed.
Q
A
Can you do a site visit to check if our solar / battery backup system has been correctly installed?
Yes, that is part of what we are all about
Q
Who covers the warranty of the equipment that is installed?
A
The installer is responsible to return the equipment to the manufacturer and the manufacturer's cover the warranty of the equipment installed.
Q
How do you register the warranty of the equipment?
A
Either the installer needs to register the warranty or the installer’s supplier automatically registers the warranty when the equipment is sold to the installer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q
Can the Gas Geyser connect to our solar / battery backup system?
A
Yes, the Gas Geysers use minimal power to ignite the burners to heat up the water.
Q
How hot does the Gas Geyser water get?
A
Depends on the type of Gas Geyser that is installed. The Fan Force Geysers have a digital controller that you can adjust the temperature of the water. With the low pressure Gas Geysers, there are 2 dials, one to adjust the flow of the water and one to adjust the temperature of the water.
Q
Can we connect our Gas Geyser to a 9 kg Gas Bottle?
A
Depending on the Gas Geyser, but the majority of the Low Pressure Gas Geysers require a 19 kg Gas Bottle as a minimum and the Fan Force requires a 48kg Gas Bottle as a minimum.
Q
What is the maximum amount of LP Gas I can have on my property?
A
As per SANS regulations, maximum of 100 kg of LP Gas, unless you receive written approval from the fire department to have more than 100 kg of LP Gas.
Q
How do we know the appliance we are going to buy is a Safe Appliance?
A
Search for the appliance in the LP Gas Safe Appliance Database, if it is there, then it is safe and can be installed and a COC can be issued for the appliance as part of the installation. (https://www.lpgas.co.za/safe-appliance-database/)
Q
How do we know when the gas bottle is empty?
A
There is a device you can buy (EyeGas) that can connect to your phone using BlueTooth to tell you what the level of your gas is, but it needs to be installed correctly. If you don’t have the device, then use hot water and pour it down the side of the gas bottle and you will feel the area that still has gas will be cold.
